ISMI® Certification Personal Data Privacy Assurance Statement
This notice sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us in respect of the services we offer as a certification programme provider and membership organisation.
We take the privacy of your data seriously and use all means possible to secure your information.
We hold only the information provided by you to us directly or via LinkedIn. Your personal data is not shared outside the ISMI® Faculty* except in the case of students when we share information with our accrediting body for the purposes of CSMP® Diploma verification.
How We Collect
We use different methods to collect data on persons who may be interested in our programmes. These include:
- Telephone, email, social media and web-form enquiries about our services.
- Course registration forms.
- ISMI® Online Library accounts.
- Business cards received from you directly.
What We Collect
In the case of non-students we generally hold, and secure appropriately, only the information you have provided such as email address, employer name, job title and telephone nr.
In the case of students and members we hold, and secure appropriately, the information provided on initial registration forms and in Diploma registration emails. This is not shared with third parties, with the exception of Industry Qualifications, the awarding body for the CSMP® Diploma, for the purposes of verifying authenticity and eligibility.
In no cases do we record or retain any financial information relating to your credit card purchase payments, bank accounts etc., in full compliance with PCI Security Standards. Any and all such information is processed by the accredited payment handling authority, such as Stripe or WorldPay.
What We Do with the Information We Gather
In the case of students and members we use your information to provide you with a professional development service appropriate to your circumstances. We may also advise you of other ISMI® professional certification programmes, partner educational events (exhibitions and conferences) and special events. We may also use the information you provide to improve our products and services.
In the case of students, members and non-students we may periodically send you promotional emails to notify you of ISMI® professional certification programmes, partner educational events (exhibitions and conferences) and special events.
All personal data is secured with appropriate safeguards in order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. These include physical, logical, managerial and administrative measures, protocols and procedures.

The ISMI® website may contain links to other websites of interest. We strive to ensure these links are safe. However, each individual site will operate under its own data privacy rules. If there is any uncertainty you should contact ISMI® in the first instance.
Controlling Your Personal Information
In enrolling on an ISMI® course, making an enquiry or applying for an Online Library account you explicitly consent to our holding the data you provide to us. However, you may at any time and with no obligation request removal from marketing emails.

Retention of Personal Information
We will retain your personal information in our systems only for as long as we need it, given the purposes for which it was collected, or as required to do so by law. We keep contact information (such as mailing list information) until a user unsubscribes or requests that we delete that information. If you choose to unsubscribe from a mailing list, we may keep certain limited information about you so that we may honour your request.
* The ISMI® Faculty includes the Directors, administrative and academic staff, the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board, The ISMI® Professional Ethics Board, the ISMI® Fellowship Admissions Board, and the ISMI® Online Library Web Manager.
