Robin Brown is Director of Electronic Security at University of Colorado and his specialist practitioner areas are internal security consulting, physical security design, policy development, CPTED, and consulting with other Colorado universities.   In addition to his duties at the University of Denver, Robin also conducts CPP and PSP preparation programs on behalf of ASIS International and the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety.   Robin is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board and leads ISMI®’s Fellowship Admissions Board.  

 

Lyon Pretorius PhD Dip CSMP® F.ISMI

Dr Lyon Pretorius is the Regional Security Officer for Siemens in Southern Africa and he also serves as the Director Safety and Security for the Capitol City Business Chamber and is a previous senior military staff officer.  Lyon tutors and lectures in criminology and police science at university level and he consults on a freelance basis. Prior to joining Siemens, he was CSO for BMW South Africa.  He is an exponent of an applied criminological approach to mitigate crime and/or its risks. Education: PhD and Masters in applied Criminology at the University of South Africa, a BA and BA Hons at the University of Pretoria.  Lyon is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board and ISMI®’s Fellowship Admissions Board.

Robbie Nelson BTech Dip CSMP® F.ISMI

Robbie is a key support figure and lead coach for ISMI®, and is based in South Africa.  Formerly the Protection Services Manager, Operations at Bokoni Platinum Mines in Limpopo, South Africa, which employs 6,000 people and produces 160Kt of Platinum-bearing ore per month, where he was responsible for the total security function including security risk management (risk analysis, threat analysis, security design/survey and mitigation), security contingency planning, crime prevention strategies, security investigations, intelligence and counter-intelligence, combating of unrest and instability, security training (people, dogs and firearms), SHE management, budget and costing.  Baccalaureus Technologiae: Security Risk Management from University of South Africa (UNISA). Jacqueline Walker is Group Security Adviser (Operations and Financial Crime) for Prudential Plc, a leading international financial services group with significant operations in Asia, the US and the UK, serving around 25 million insurance customers worldwide.  Jacqueline’s role within Group Security provides a focal point of contact for advice, guidance and assistance on Operational Security issues, including physical security, personal security, political risk and travel security, to business units throughout the Group. She assists in the creation of corporate security policies, providing advice to those who are responsible for security at a business level, to interpret and comply with the requirements of group policy. Bill Scarth BSc MCGI Dip CSMP® F.ISMI

Bill works for Control Risks and is currently the security manager for Schlumberger Oil and Gas Services in the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.  This involves providing proactive security advice, risk assessments and security audits as well as the reactive elements of crisis response and local evacuation.  Bill was previously in the UK military for 30 years and concluded his service as the UK’s Defence Attaché to Bahrain. Bill is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board and is very active in supporting students through coaching.

As Head of Security for TNT Express Mike is responsible for all security related tasks and questions of more than 6000 employees and subcontractors within the Operating Unit Germany. TNT is one of the world’s largest express delivery companies, delivering close to one million consignments ranging from documents and parcels to palletised freight within more than 220 countries on a daily base. In addition Mike ensures Export Controls compliance as the Export Controls Country Focal Point. Formerly an officer within German military Special Forces (KSK), he still conducts exercises for the reserves. Mike is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board.

Robert is a transport security program manager who delivers capacity building and technical assistance to regulators and operators across South East Asia. His focus is counter terrorism mitigation for the aviation and maritime sectors. Previously, Robert managed State-level border control programs including in the fields of counter people smuggling, illicit drug smuggling and precursor chemical diversion. Andrea is former Security manager at University of Sunderland, UK, and has over 20 years experience within the security industry. Andrea’s role involved the management of several aspects of security including physical and building protection, access control, CCTV, BIDS and the strategic development of departmental objectives to address key risks to the organisation’s community. Andrea also ensured compliance with Art Council sanctions for the storage and movement of exhibitor collections within the University. Scott is the global security director for  the Mennonite Economic Development Associates, an international development organization which provides economic aid for the developing world. John is currently Head of EMEA Physical Security for The Northern Trust Corporation based out of Canary Wharf. He is a former Control Risks consultant and military officer of 28 years. His primary duties are the protection of Northern’s physical assets across 9 countries with total responsibility all the CCTV and access control systems. He is also responsible for travel security for partners across EMEA and North America. John developed the Global Travel Security standard for Northern Trust and created the EMEA control room to monitor global travel for the organisation. John is responsible for all of the building threat and risk assessments, physical and procedural audits and surveys within the EMEA region. He is a key figure in the new office allocation programme and sits on the project management team for all new buildings projects. He also sits on the internal investigations team and is lead security advisor to Northern’s London Incident Management Team. He has extensive experience in global counter terrorist operations and is an ASIS member and sits in the Executive Committee of the Overseas Security Advisory Council. He holds an honours degree in Criminology, is a Certified Security Management Professional and a Certified Protection Professional. Tommy Hansen MA Dip CSMP® CPP F.ISMI

Tommy is currently a Senior Security Advisor with the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (national agency), were he, amongst others, is responsible for conducting supervisory and regulatory work within the petroleum sector in Norway, offshore and onshore. His experience includes the military, and corporate security.  He holds a Masters degree in International Security, Intelligence and Ethics. Tommy is also engaged in security standardization, and is a member of the ISO/TC 292 WG 6 Security and Resilience, in addition to national standardisation committees.

Simon is a former member of the British Military (Army) and the UK’s Metropolitan Police Service. Over the last 15 years he has been working as a Regional Overseas Security Manager for the FCO and has extensive experience of working in high risk and hostile environments where his role has included threat and risk analysis, risk management, contingency planning, crime prevention strategies, security investigations, and security training. Stephen currently runs a small consultancy with clients in the arenas of maritime security, wide-area aerial surveillance, information security and general risk management consulting.  In the 20 years since completing a full career in the British Army, he has worked throughout Africa and in several countries in the Middle East and South-West Asia.  Stephen has specialist knowledge of risk reduction strategies in the extractive industries, maritime security and the design and delivery of intelligence courses and security training.  He is also embarking on a career as an author and has several books planned (and one underway) that are based on his experiences in different parts of the world.

Muhammad Aamir is a serving law enforcement officer from Pakistan. Dual Board-certified by both ISMI® and ASIS International, Melt is the Head of the Security and Risk Department (Senior General Management) at ALJ Motors Company in Saudi Arabia and is a retired senior military officer – Staff Officer qualified (Lt. Karl is currently a self-employed security professional having formerly been the Global Corporate Security Manager for a payment processing company, with responsibility for 26 locations worldwide. Karl has experience of delivering security management in varying geopolitical territories.  Grounded in theory and practice of physical security from over 20 years’ experience in UK HMPS including 4 years spent as an operational adviser to national policy groups.  He is a great exponent of ‘security convergence’; ensuring comprehensive security management across physical and cyber disciplines. He is likewise a strong proponent of Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM), having developed his own adaptation of the CSMP® Security Risk Analysis methodology to ensure alignment with extant Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools and criteria. Glenn is the Manager, Security at Western Water in Victoria, Australia and is a former Detective Senior Constable in the NSW Police Force.  He has worked within the law enforcement and security arenas for the past 30 years and is experienced across many sectors including utilities, transport, warehousing, critical infrastructure, maritime, rail and retail security.  In his current role he is developing the security strategy and framework for the business whilst building security awareness through staff training.  He is hands on in project managing the physical and electronic security design and installation across multiple assets within a diverse and challenging environment.  Glenn also holds a Diploma in Security (Australian Government) and is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board.

 

Steven Bennett CSMP® F.ISMI®

Steven is a former member of the British Armed Forces (RAF) with 22 years’ service, fulfilling a number of specialist security roles including protective security, cyber and investigations. He was also the Head of Physical Security & BCM for EE in the UK before moving to the nuclear sector with the Office for Nuclear Regulation – Civil Nuclear Security. He is a Senior Site Inspector, initially specialising in the secure transport of spent nuclear fuel and the defueling and waste cycle.  He is now the security inspector for a number of nuclear sites across the UK.  Previously certified as a PSP and has attended the full range of CPNI training courses.

Robert Mavronicolas is a security consultant with over 18 years of senior management experience across three sectors of the private security industry, namely training and education, sales and man management. Currently based in the United Kingdom, Robert managed a workforce of security operatives at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and was integral to the security event planning around high profile events and ceremonies attended by the likes of the British royal family, international political delegates, as well as A-list film stars and directors. An avid proponent of the quality of training standards, as part of the agenda of an annual research forum meeting conducted by the UK Security Industry Authority, Robert was invited to present his research findings into the effectiveness of security license training. An honourable mention winner of the ASIS International Student Writing Competition, he has authored an article for publication in the prestigious Securitas annual report survey for America's Top Ten Threats. Robert holds a Master of Science degree in Security Management from the University of Portsmouth, a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Town and is a member of the ISMI® Professional Assessment Board.

 

Richard Ayrton Dip CSMP® F.ISMI

Richard started his career delivering anti-crime and safer community programmes collaboratively with police forces and local authorities in the north of England.  The programmes focus on partnership building, designing out crime and urban regeneration. Between 2010 and 2018 Richard worked as the Security Manager for a large organisation, specialising in physical security, risk analysis, legal compliance and policy development and with responsibility to strategically develop the service. In October 2018 Richard took the step to work as an independent security consultant and training provider. Alan is currently employed with one the UK’s largest outsourcing security providers. With over 30 year of experience within the public and private sectors, Alan brings a wealth of knowledge of both in-house and out-sourced security functions, specialising in manned guarding, physical security, risk analysis and security surveying. Alan completed the CSMP® course in October 2016 achieving 12 exceeded grades. Bouchaib Aboutaj is co-founder of Poly Line Morocco, a physical security consulting company. He holds a Masters Degree in Information Systems Security from ESIEA-Paris, and has over 12 years of experience in physical security management, security operations, crisis & emergency management and physical security mentoring. Bouchaib has been involved in many security related projects in Morocco and abroad, often in the role of project manager.  Bouchaib is active in volntary leadership and is Vice-Président of the ASIS Maghreb Chapter.

Scott is a highly experienced Counter Terrorism, Policing and Security Training Specialist with 34 years HM Armed Forces and UK Police experience. Matt is currently engaged as a senior security consultant for a global engineering consultancy firm.  Having worked as a police officer, Matt began his career in the security as a security manager in the diamond trade.  He spent fifteen years working within the luxury goods and jewellery goods sector, and finished his corporate career working for six years as the security director for the world’s largest jewellery and luxury goods retailer based in London. Russ is a retired Detective Chief Superintendent having served 30 years in both the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and Kent Police.

Russ has worked internationally in policing on 4 continents and is an accredited Senior Investigating Officer and previously been Head of Intelligence for Kent Police and a Government (arms length) agency in addition to being Head of Partnerships and Crime Reduction whilst at Kent Police. Russ was Borough Commander at Lewisham (MPS) one of the most challenging policing areas in the UK.

Dr Christopher Udoaka is currently the head of Intelligence and Security Operations at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria (PDP). 

Dr Udoaka is the course coordinator for MA Criminology and Security Studies and MA Peace and Security Studies of the APUDI Institute for Peace and Social Rehabilitation of the University of Abuja, Nigeria and is also a part-time lecturer of Postgraduate students of Criminology and Security Studies of the Institute.

Michael Alan Williams MSc CSMP® F.ISMI

Mike Williams is Head of Physical Security and Resilience for the Government Property Agency.  He previously held a similar post in the UK government department leading the delivery of the largest transformation programme for the UK government estate.  He holds direct responsibility for defining and establishing the security and resilience posture that has underpinned the programme’s functional design principles.

Mike has over 35 years’ experience managing and leading the delivery of infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors, initially with the Royal Engineers, then in the private sector in support of utilities companies protecting their Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), and, for the last 4 years, within the UK Civil Service.

Wayne Edmonds is the APAC Regional Security Manager for the Bank of New York Mellon, and is based in Singapore.  Having spent 20 years with West Midlands Police Force (15 years of which were with the Tactical Firearms Unit), Wayne is an experienced tactical firearms instructor/operator and created police approved training manuals, ran national police firearms courses and constructed training programs/lesson plans/assessment criteria and feedback models for students.

Leon is the lead security consultant for International SOS China. Before joining the private sector in 2017, he was a senior Beijing Police officer with 15 years extensive experience in multiple policing functions including community policing, criminal investigation, digital forensic and counter terrorism. From 2010-2011, he was deployed to Port-de-Paix, Haiti as a UN police advisor for UN peace keeping mission (MINUSTAH). Then after returning China, he worked in INTERPOL Beijing Liaison Office from 2012-2013. As a senior security consultant for International SOS, he worked in a number of high-risk and conflicting countries such as Libya, Pakistan, Ethiopia ,Chad, DRC, Sudan and South Sudan over 1 year. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Technical Security Protection Engineering from China Public Security University and Master Degree in Management from University of Canberra, Australia. In addition, Leon is the first Chinese person to achieve the ASIS Triple Crown Certifications (CPP, PSP, PCI). Now he is the Vice Chairman of ASIS Shanghai Chapter as well as ASIS International Mentor.
